AMAZON BASIC
To start our adventure, you will take a bus from Quito to Lago Agrio, where we will pick you up and head to Tierras Orientales in private transportation. There, you can enjoy a delicious box lunch before embarking on our canoe journey along the Aguarico River for 3 hours and then the Cuyabeno River for approximately 1 hour. During this time, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the landscape, full of endemic species, and observe the pink dolphins, continuing our journey until we reach our camp on the shores of the San Francisco Lagoon.
The camp is built using indigenous materials from the area, recycled from nature to create the least possible impact on the environment. It consists of 10 cabins, distributed as follows: 8 for lodging and 2 for service.
The rooms are very comfortable and designed not to affect the natural surroundings. The beds are very cozy and include mosquito nets and private bathrooms. There is also a hammock for your afternoon relaxation after the activities.
Activities are conducted by canoe and on foot around the camp. All activities are organized according to the weather, as the Amazon climate is humid and rainy, making it difficult to define which activity can be carried out at any given time.
Every morning before breakfast, we will enjoy one of the most fabulous activities: canoeing to observe the most exotic birds in the area and witness natural life in its full splendor. This activity lasts approximately one hour, after which we return to the camp for a nutritious breakfast before preparing for our hike along the trails around our lodge. During the hike, we will identify the diverse species of birds and mammals and learn about the practical uses of medicinal plants passed down by our ancestors through generations. After this magnificent experience, we return to the camp for a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, after 4 pm, we embark on a new adventure. The guides provide us with the experience of navigating and hiking along the trails to identify magical, cultural, knowledgeable, and adventurous places. These include piranha fishing, howler monkey, capuchin, and squirrel monkey sightings in their natural habitat, the giant ceibo tree (giant tree of the jungle), “Saladero” where parrots gather to eat, microscopic animals, epiphytic plants, and many bird species.
Shortly after, before returning to our lodge, we will take a short night walk around the tower in search of new insect species, then return to the camp where a delicious dinner awaits us.
